Interfaith Advocacy Day CANCELLED due to potential icy conditions.
FAN staff and board has been closely monitoring conditions across our region and in Olympia, and we've made the difficult decision to cancel Interfaith Advocacy Day as planned on Thursday. The National Weather Service has predicted below freezing temperatures in Olympia Wednesday night, which will mean everything melting becomes ice, with a possibility of some snow that morning.
Your safety and well-being is the most important thing to us! We've been hearing from some of you who needed to cancel. And we already have ideas for gathering for legislative updates and other advocacy opportunities throughout the remainder of the session. While we won't be able to reschedule IFAD, we are committed to helping you raise FAN values in the halls of power and beyond during this legislative session. We echo our activist friends who remind us "it's not a moment, it's a movement!"
For those of you who paid in advance and would like to request a refund, please email us at fan@fanwa.org. If we don't hear from you, your $15 fee will be considered a tax-deductible donation to FAN. We will be cancelling your appointments with legislators tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We will be sending out another email to our whole network tomorrow, with more tools and resources for your continued advocacy this session, and a few suggested actions for Thursday. Please join a collective effort to take five minutes on Thursday for phone calls and emails to your elected officials. With your help, FAN will still have a powerful presence on Thursday!
