The Way of the Cross: A Spokane Pilgrimage

The Way of the Cross: A Spokane Pilgrimage
Good Friday, April 3, 2026, 4 - 6 pm
Begin at Salem Lutheran Church, 1428 W Broadway Ave. Spokane, WA 99201

Good Friday reminds us that we are called to die to the violence around us. Together, we will walk a Stations of the Cross Journey to places in Spokane where violence and injustice are occurring and gather for reflection that leads us to actions of solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.

We will begin our procession from Salem Lutheran Church at 4 PM and, weather permitting, end with a time of lament, prayer, and witness near the Rotary Fountain in Riverfront Park at 5 PM. We will conclude by 6 PM. Plan to dress in weather-appropriate clothing and wear good walking shoes. Our walking route is about 1.8 miles from Salem to Riverfront Park and back. There is an option to take the 11 route bus back.

In the event of inclement weather, we will hold the event indoors; an email will be sent out to those who rsvp'ed and posted on social media if moved indoors.

This event is hosted by Bethany Presbyterian Church, Westminster Congregational Church, Salem Lutheran Church, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the West Central Abbey, Grace Commons, and Faith Action Network.
