9 AM - 3 PM

The United Churches of Olympia

FAITH ACTION NETWORK’s Interfaith Advocacy Day brings the voices of compassion and justice to our elected leaders. Meeting with your legislators and their staff on this day is putting your faith into action!

On Interfaith Advocacy Day, you will be able to:

  • Join plenaries and workshops that will explore the issues on FAN's 2024 Legislative Agenda.
  • Meet with advocates from your legislative district to prepare for your legislative visits.
  • Meet with your legislator or their legislative assistant! If you register by January 29, FAN will set up an appointment for you and others from your district.
  • Lunch will be provided.

Don’t miss this important day in Olympia! Registration deadline is January 29. This year we are limited to 200 participants due to regulations at The United Churches of Olympia. We encourage you to sign up early so that we can guarantee you a spot.

REGISTRATION: Due to the generosity of our donors, there is no cost this year to participate in FAN's Interfaith Advocacy Day. You are welcome to donate to keep our advocacy moving forward in 2024.

After you register, you will receive more information via e-mail as February 8 approaches, including details on the agenda, workshop topics, times of your legislative appointments.

CHECK-IN: Doors open at 8:00 AM, and the program begins at 9:00 AM. We'll end by 3:00 PM after a debrief session.

TRANSPORTATION:
Parking:
There is NO church parking, but parking is available in a nearby state capitol lot. See Washington State Capitol Campus Parking Options. We recommend carpooling with others from your faith community or your area, especially if your faith community has a van.

LODGING: Coming from far away?

We hope to partner again with Gwinwood Camp and Conference Center to make attending IFAD easier for those of you who live far away. Gwinwood is located on Hicks Lake in Lacey, approximately 20 minutes away from the capitol. If you're interested in staying at Gwinwood the night of February 7, please contact fan@fanwa.org.

We’re excited to have you be FAN in the halls of power on this great day!

For those who want help preparing for our day in Olympia, we are holding 3 online training sessions:

  • Sunday, January 7, 3:00-4:15 Legislative Preview with overview of policy issues
  • Wednesday, January 10, 7:00-8:00pm, Advocacy 101
  • Thursday, January 11, noon-1:00pm, Advocacy 101

Links to register for these events can be found on the FAN website: https://fanwa.org/interfaith-advocacy-day/. Please note that the lunchtime and evening Advocacy 101 sessions will have the same content. You do not need to attend both.

For those who can't make it to Olympia, there is an Eastern WA legislative conference in Spokane on January 27, registration link on the FAN web page listed above. We also hope to be live-streaming our plenary sessions in Olympia. If we are able to do this, we will set up and share on online-only registration link.
