4th & 5th Congressional District Listening Session

Registration is closed for this event
Congress is preparing a major Budget Reconciliation bill with proposed funding cuts and increases that would cause incredible harm to our communities. We are gathering together to listen to the impacts that proposed cuts would have in our communities and gather for action.

4th and 5th Congressional District Listening Session on Medicaid, SNAP, and Immigration

Tuesday, April 15, 12:00 - 1:00 PM on Zoom

Join us for a listening session on federal cuts. As Congress begins drafting proposals for a Budget Reconciliation bill, we are anticipating federal cuts, "restructuring" or limits to Medicaid and SNAP (food stamps) to pay for mass deportations and tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. Join us on Tuesday, April 15, Tax Day, to share how these cuts impact our community in Eastern and Central Washington and begin to strategize how we can band together to demonstrate to Congress the importance of maintaining funding for these vital programs.

Agenda:

  • Brief introduction and framing of the federal budget reconciliation process
  • Opportunities to share what these cuts mean for you and your community
  • Strategizing for community action in the months ahead
