Standing Together for Immigrant Rights

As President Trump’s administration begins, Faith Action Network is deeply disturbed but not surprised to see the slate of anti-immigrant executive orders meant to dehumanize our neighbors, sow fear, stoke xenophobia, and tear at the fabric of our communities.

As people of faith and conscience, we believe in the inherent dignity of all people and our deep interconnectedness with one another. In the face of such injustice and cruelty, we are called to courageous advocacy and public action.

Join us as we engage in federal and state advocacy for immigrant rights, take action for deportation defense, stand in solidarity with our coalition partners, and share critical resources.

Tell our U.S. Senators and Representatives: No Funding
for Mass Deportations!

We know that the mass deportation of immigrants without legal status would have a devastating effect on our families, neighborhoods, schools, faith communities, cities, state, and country.

It will cost billions of dollars to execute President Trump’s mass deportation plans, and this cannot be done without funding from Congress. As our neighbors’ rights, relationships, and lives are at risk, join FAN in sending a clear message to our U.S. Senators and Representatives that they must hold the line and allow NO FUNDING for mass deportations.

Advocate for Immigrant Justice
Priorities in Washington State

As the new legislative session begins in Olympia, we have the opportunity to win funding for accessible health care for immigrants, a wage replacement program for excluded undocumented workers (i.e. unemployment insurance), and support for newly arrived migrants in Washington State.

FAN is joining our coalition partner, Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice NW, in their letter writing campaign to highlight these crucial priorities.

Four Actions You Can Take
Today for Deportation Defense

Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) is the largest immigrant-led justice network in Washington state, and FAN is part of their coalition to protect and advance and the power and rights of all immigrants and refugee communities. They have highlighted four actions we can take to join in their Deportation Defense:

  • Share Know Your Rights with ICE Flyers (available in 6 languages)
  • Join a Rapid Response Team
  • Host a Fundraiser for the Fair Fight Bond Fund
  • Become an Accompaniment Volunteer

Download the Four Deportation Defense Actions You Can Take Today flyer to learn more and post it in your faith community.

WAISN's Deportation Defense Hotline:
1-844-724-3737

WAISN's Deportation Defense Hotline (the “Hotline”) is the only statewide hotline exclusively dedicated to serving immigrants and refugees, particularly undocumented immigrants, in the state of Washington. The hotline is open Monday to Friday, 6am–6pm. All operators speak English and Spanish and the hotline can offer interpretation in 300 languages.

If community members encounter ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement) and CPB (Customs & Border Protection) activity in the state, the Hotline is the place to call. It is particularly helpful to get first-hand reports (someone directly seeing what they think is ICE activity vs someone calling to report something they heard about indirectly from someone else). Photos or videos also help WAISN verify and know when to dispatch a local rapid response team. Download and post WAISN's Deportation Defense hotline flyer.

Learn about the Rescission of
Protected Areas Policies
FAN is especially concerned that the Protected Areas Policies have been rescinded, opening the door for immigration enforcement in our places of worship and attempting to disrupt the Sanctuary efforts of many faith communities.

In addition to contacting our elected officials to express our concern, we can learn more about what these changes mean and the steps that faith communities can take in this Factsheet: Trump’s Rescission of Protected Areas Policies Undermines Safety for All prepared by the National Immigration Law Center.
