It is with deep gratitude that we celebrate and honor the life of our Board Chair, the Reverend Carol Jensen. Reverend Jensen was a founding board member since June 2011, a total of 14 years. Before that, she was also on the board of the Lutheran Public Policy Office for many years and helped guide the merger with the WA Association of Churches to create FAN. In the time that I had the honor of working with her, I experienced her passion, strength, compassion, and love for others. I trust that the Divine has welcomed her home.
We share the blessings and faithful sentiments of our board members, with whom Rev. Jensen served alongside for many years, in pursuit of social justice and democracy in the state of Washington.
- "From stardust you came and into stardust you shall return." Carol has changed this Creation for the better through her love and thirst for justice, equity, and inclusion. The results of her efforts endure. She now returns to the Love Creation of this universe, having made all things better than how she found them. May we carry on with the same tireless devotion in her memory.
- As a Muslim, I believe that every soul returns to its Creator, and I pray that Carol is granted eternal peace and rest in God’s loving embrace. In our Islamic tradition, we are taught that those who strive for justice, kindness, and unity among people are honored in the hereafter, and Carol exemplified these virtues in every way. May her memory continue to inspire us to work together with humility and hope, and may we find comfort in the legacy of love and service she leaves behind.
- Baruch Dayan HaMet - Blessed is God, the Judge of Truth. May she find rest and comfort amongst the most righteous.
May we, the staff and board members of Faith Action Network, continue to pursue justice and the common good with the same fire, strength, and holy love that you modeled for us.
Rest in Power,
