Are you considering sponsoring this year's dinner?

Your sponsorship powers FAN’s organizing and advocacy throughout the year. Explore our sponsorship levels in the Sponsorship Registration Form here.

We kindly ask that sponsorship commitments be confirmed by October 31 so we can include you in our pre-dinner promotions. If you’re not the decision-maker, please forward this invitation to the right person in your organization.

Together, we can ensure that we can continue the increasingly important work of promoting justice, compassion, and sustainability in the halls of power. We can't wait to see you there!

Take Action

TAKE ACTION TODAY FOR OUR CLIMATE!

From our partners at Climate Solutions:

Buildings use a lot of energy, and that makes them one of the largest and fastest-growing sources of climate pollution in Washington. Now our state has the opportunity to set a national example by strengthening what are already the most climate-friendly statewide building codes in the country.

This opportunity to update and improve our building energy codes comes up only once every three years. We need you to lend your voice to this fight and ensure that Washington is putting policies in place now to reduce emissions and invest in a more sustainable, healthier and more equitable future.

Please take action today to tell the State Building Code Council to move forward with proposed amendments to the Washington codes!

Holding Our Jewish Communities in Care During these High Holidays

In this season, Jewish members of FAN observe the High Holidays or Days of Awe. They/we have already prepared deeply for this time, and celebrated Rosh Hashanah, the new year. Today, Wednesday October 1, begins Yom Kippur, a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, repentance and turning (T'shuvah). Our network hopes for a meaningful holy day and holds you/us in healing and prayer.

Rabbi Joseph Meszler of Temple Sinai in Sharon, MA, writes: "Yom Kippur is the moment in Jewish time when we dedicate our mind, body, and soul to reconciliation with our fellow human beings, ourselves, and God. As the New Year begins, we commit to self-reflection and inner change. He prays:

But amidst overwhelming forces of nature and humankind,
we still write our own Book of Life,
and our actions are the words in it,
and the stages of our lives are the chapters,
and nothing goes unrecorded, ever.
Every deed counts.
Everything you do matters.
And we never know what act or word
will leave an impression or tip the scale.
So, if not now, then when?
For the things that we can change, there is t’shuvah, realignment,
For the things we cannot change, there is t’filah, prayer,
For the help we can give, there is tzedakah, justice.
Together, let us write a beautiful Book of Life
for the Holy One to read."

National Day of Remembrance for US Boarding Schools

FAN joins with the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) in recognizing yesterday, September 30, as the National Day of Remembrance for U.S. Indian Boarding Schools. "Today we honor the lives of Native children taken from their families, remember those who never returned home, and stand with survivors, their descendants, and Tribal Nations who continue to carry the weight of this history."

We urge all FAN members to find some time to reflect on this painful past today, to learn about the enduring impacts of the boarding school system and to actively support efforts that promote healing and justice for Native communities.

Join Health Care for All-WA for “Ending Neglect of Tuberculosis, the U-shaped Curve in Public Health”, Wednesday, October 8 at 7pm on Zoom. Register HERE

During this event, Dr. Stefan Goldberg will discuss what happens when we neglect the need for our federal and local public health resources. What will we do when the rest of our hospitals get overloaded and our traditional “healthcare system” can’t keep up? Dr. Goldberg worked on the frontlines in the Tuberculosis Clinic in Public Health – Seattle and King County from 1991 to 2003, then he moved to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Tuberculosis Elimination  from 2003-2017. He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. Learn more here: https://www.hcfawa.org/

Homelessness is a Housing Problem

Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m.
