Celebrate the Life & Legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Join us on January 19, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, to celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Inspired by Dr. King's life's work towards civil rights and belonging for all people, let us join together as diverse people of faith to rally, march, and continue working toward his vision of the beloved community.

For those who can join, Salem Lutheran Church is hosting a potluck breakfast at 8 am before the rally at their church, 1428 W Broadway Ave. From there, we will carpool, bus, or walk to the Unity Rally and march at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 W Spokane Falls Blvd.

If you can't make it to the breakfast, join us at the rally and look out for the Faith Action Network banner!

Email our regional organizer, Brianna at dilts@fanwa.org if you have any questions. All are welcome!

We also encourage you to join us at the Martin Luther King Commemorative Service at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 806 W Indiana Ave, on Sunday, January 18, from 3- 5 pm. This annual service is put on by the Black Minister Alliance in partnership with the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.

Featured Event: Eastern Washington Legislative Conference on January 31

For years, we have cosponsored the Eastern Washington Legislative Conference with the Fig Tree, Catholic Charities & the Washington State Catholic Conference, the Spokane NAACP, and many other amazing organizations. We are excited to again be a part of this event. This year's theme is "We Shall Overcome: Building the Beloved Community Today."

This isn't just a meeting; it’s a strategy session for the world we want to build. We’ll dive into briefings on housing, voting rights, climate justice, and more, while learning how to use "people power" and faithful advocacy to move the needle in Olympia and elsewhere.

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 31 | 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

  • Where: In-person at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Spokane Valley, WA 99206

  • What: Faith leader and youth actvisit & organizer panels, legislative briefings, lunch, and workshops on community organizing, refugee rights, and more.

Register here for individuals and groups (Scholarships are available—we want everyone at the table!)
