Attend Upcoming 2026 Townhall Meetings and Rally for the Millionaires Tax!

If you were not able to make it to Interfaith Advocacy Day to talk to your legislators, or have more to say or ask, one great option is to attend a legislative townhall. If you are attending make sure to ask your representative, "Are you supporting the Millionaires Tax?" and get a yes or no answer. You can also mention to the room that it only impacts people with yearly income over one million dollars. There are townhalls coming up February 18-23 in legislative districts 1, 5, 7, 8 21, 27, 28, 33, 34, 36, 37, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 and 45. Find schedules and locations here.

Sample Questions on the Millionaires Tax for our Representatives at Townhalls

Tax Balance + Regressivity Framing

“Washington’s tax system relies heavily on sales and property taxes, which often impact lower- and middle-income families more heavily. SB 6346, the so-called Millionaires Tax, focuses only on multi-million-dollar earners who have benefited the most from our economy to create a more balanced approach. Do you see this as a reasonable way to address tax fairness?

Protecting Essential Services

“With budget pressures threatening funding for healthcare, housing, and behavioral health, SB 6346, the Millionaires Tax, would generate revenue from the very highest earners in the top 1% to help prevent cuts to services many families rely on. Do you support this targeted approach to protecting essential services?”

Sustainable Budget + Federal Uncertainty Framing

“With uncertainty at the federal level — including proposals like HR1 that prioritize tax cuts for the wealthiest while reducing support to states — many people are concerned about how Washington will maintain stable funding for schools, healthcare, food and essential services over time. SB 6346, the Millionaires Tax, applies only to individuals earning over $1 million a year — less than 1% of Washington residents — and is designed to strengthen our state’s long-term fiscal sustainability. How are you planning to vote on this tax?"
