Ahead of the World Cup, Embassy Suites hotel workers have voted to authorize a strike. Like front desk agent Hayden Eyerly told King 5 News, "We're all in it together and will support each other no matter what." The Union could now call a strike at any time. We are stronger when our community fights beside us -- that's you! Sign this Petition in Solidarity with Mushroom Workers

Windmill Farms mushroom workers have been fighting for a union for four years now. We can all amplify their power.

Here are some words from Rev. Connie Yost of the Farmworker Ministry NW: "Four years is a long time to work and struggle in an abusive workplace, out of sight, and too often out of the mind of people who buy the mushrooms. But the workers’ stand strong in their struggle, calling on all of us as consumers to boycott Windmill mushrooms and join them in rallies and outreach to the public. We can all, with little effort, sign the petition calling on Instar, the owner of Windmill Farms, to honor the workers' vote to unionize with United Farm Workers.
With a little more effort, you all can join your city’s delegation to make grocery store visits to ask them to honor the boycott and not buy the mushrooms. We are now working on the Winco grocery chain." To participate please email the Rev. Connie Yost at fwm-nw@nfwm.org  

 Join FAN at Spokane Pride this Saturday, June 13

June is Pride Month! At a time when our queer and trans siblings are being targeted for who they are, it’s more important than ever to show up in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Faith Action Network, and many of our Spokane area partner faith communities, will be at the Spokane Pride Festival on Saturday, June 13, from 12-6 pm, at Riverfront Park, 507 N Howard St., Spokane, WA 99201. We invite you to join us and celebrate the diversity in our city and show a welcoming faith presence for our queer and trans community! Stop by our booth near the Clocktower, say hi, and enjoy the food, entertainment, and vendors at the Festival! On Sunday, June 14th (3-5 PM) Leavenworth, WA Pastor Aaron Musser of Faith Lutheran Church (a FAN partner faith community!) will keynote a community forum examining Christian Nationalism — what it teaches, how it’s spreading, and why it matters for our civic life. Drawing on extensive research and his work within the faith community, Pastor Musser will explain how Christian Nationalism departs from mainstream Christian theology and why most Christian scholars and church leaders reject its interpretation of scripture. Hosted by Upper Valley Indivisible and NCW Channel Z at the Chelan County Fire District 3 (228 Chumstick Hwy, Leavenworth, WA), this forum isn’t about criticizing anyone’s faith; it’s about understanding a political movement that is actively shaping public policy and decision‑making. The forum will explore how Christian Nationalism challenges core civic values like separation of church and state, fair representation, checks and balances, and individual freedoms. When our community is informed, we’re better equipped to protect a welcoming, free, and inclusive future for everyone.

The Clark County United in Faith Coalition (CCUFC) invites the faith communities to Moving Forward in Faith and Love: A Vision for the Future, a conversation with our U.S. Representative, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez on Thursday June 18th, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1309 Franklin St., Vancouver. Please allow extra time for parking which is on the street (free after 6 p.m.) or in the County Parking Garage across the street from the church.

Constitutional Observer Trainings on Zoom this June!

FAN Advocates are invited to join one of these trainings with one of our WA For All Coalition partners, East King Rise. Constitutional Observer trainings prepare people to observe, document, and report what they witness — centering the people being targeted — in service of accountability, safety, and our shared democratic values. You do not have to be part of a Rapid Response group to attend — this training is especially meant for anyone who would like to have (or refresh) basic skills in case they encounter immigration enforcement.  Follow this link here to sign up for the zoom trainings being held on June 16, 23, or 30 (7-8:30 PM)

Faith Action Network will be offering educational materials and positions on the November ballot initiatives this summer and fall. In the meantime, we follow the lead of the WA League of Women Voters and suggest that you decline to sign proposed Initiative Measure IP26-500. Mirroring the SAVE Act at the federal level, this initiative would require all voters to have an enhanced drivers’ license or provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship in person--such as a certified birth certificate with the same name that's on their driver's license or passport. Voters who fail to do so would see their registration put on hold and would not be sent ballots or election materials.

This initiative, if passed, would impact the nearly 3 of 4 Washingtonians without an enhanced driver's license, the 38% without a valid passport, and 1.6 million women whose current name does not match the one on their birth certificate because they changed their name when they married, and more.

The fact is that noncitizens are not voting. Perhaps the best evidence is the Brennan Center for Justice’s finding of only 30 cases of suspected noncitizens voting out of 23.5 million votes cast in 2016—an incidence rate of 0.0001%. The Washington Secretary of State’s Office confirms to LWVWA that in November 2024 election, less then 200 ballots were investigated out of almost 5 million voters.

Powering appliances, heating water, running HVAC systems – all of this takes energy, and produces emissions. We deserve clean-powered, high-efficiency buildings that keep us comfortable without burning toxic fossil fuel gas.

"Strong energy codes are one of the best ways to build thriving, climate-friendly cities from the bottom up. We’ve already done incredible work to make Washington’s buildings some of the healthiest, most climate-friendly in the country. The Interfaith Network for Indigenous Communities (INIC)* urges you to attend and support the 2026 Paddle to Nisqually Medicine Creek Potlatch hosted by the Nisqually Tribe July 31-August 5. Participation by people of faith and conscience extends our respect to and solidarity with Pacific Northwest indigenous peoples, cultures and communities.

Hosting the Potlatch and its thousands of guests is a remarkable undertaking requiring hundreds of volunteers. INIC is encouraging faith communities and individuals to volunteer before and/or during the event.
