Greetings friends,
The Washington State Legislative Session has kicked off! On Monday, January 13 legislators convened to begin considering many impactful bills, and your voices are a vital aspect of this process! With that I invite you to register for the Eastern Washington Legislative Conference on Saturday, January 25 from 8:30-3pm at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church (115 N. Raymond Rd. Spokane Valley, WA, 99206) to learn more about perspectives from local advocates and issues before the legislature.
The conference will include two panels, one from Indigenous leaders and another from young advocates, legislative briefings, and issue-based workshops. Please see the flyer above for more information. We hope that you can join us as an individual or bring a group from your faith community to learn more about how you can make a difference this session.
Later this session on February 20 we will be holding our annual Interfaith Advocacy Day (IFAD) at the state capitol in Olympia. This will be a great opportunity to mobilize your faith community and directly talk to your legislators! If you can't make it but still would like to meet with your legislators reach out to dilts@fanwa.org and we can work on scheduling a virtual meeting at another time.
In solidarity and hope,
Brianna Dilts, FAN Eastern WA Organizer |
