FAITH ACTION NETWORK’s Interfaith Advocacy Day brings to our elected leaders the voices of compassion and justice. Your meeting with legislators and/or their staff on this day is puttig your faith in action!

On Interfaith Advocacy Day, you will be able to:

  • Join workshops that will break down the issues on FAN's 2018 Legislative Agenda
  • Learn how to most effectively advocate in today’s legislature
  • Meet with advocates from your legislative district to prepare for your legislative visits
  • Meet with your legislator! Once you register, FAN will set up an appointment for you and others from your district
  • Lunch will be provided

Don’t miss this important day in Olympia!

REGISTRATION: $15.00 when paid in advance, and $20.00 if you pay at the door. Your registration fee helps to cover some of the cost of renting our meeting space, catering, and materials. Contact us if you need a scholarship.

After you register, you will receive more information via e-mail as February 20 approaches, including details on the agenda, workshop topics, and the times of your legislative appointments. To help us in this important work, make sure you register before February 12.

CHECK-IN: Doors open at 8:00 AM on February 20, and the program begins at 9:00 AM. We'll end by 3:00 PM after a debrief session in the Pritchard building on the Capitol campus.

TRANSPORTATION:
Parking:
There is NO church parking, but parking is available in a nearby state capitol lot for a small fee. See Washington State Capitol Campus Parking Options or this Downtown Parking Map. We recommend carpooling with others from your faith community or your area. If your faith community has a van, consider starting a carpool for your area; let us know if you need riders.

Shuttle Bus: FAN may rent a shuttle bus that will make the trip to Olympia, starting in Everett at 6 AM with stops in North King County, South King County, and Pierce County, and making the same stops on the way north after the event. The trip may cost up to $30 per person (let us know if you'll need a scholarship). Please contact us if you are interested, and we will let you know if it is feasible!

LODGING: Coming from far away?

FAN is partnering with Gwinwood Camp and Conference Center this year to make attending IFAD easier for those of you who live far away. Gwinwood is located on Hicks Lake in Lacey, approximately 20 minutes away from the capitol. They have offered to provide:

  • Single or double occupancy private room  - $35 per person
  • Bedding and towels
  • A complementary cold breakfast in the morning

If you're interested in staying the night at Gwinwood the night on February 19, please contact parks@fanwa.org.

We’re excited to have you be FAN in the halls of power on this great day!

For those who can't make it to Olympia, we have two other legislative conferences this session:
